Loops of gas, much larger than the Earth follow magnetic field lines arching from the edge of the VISI- ble Sun. The gas temperature in- creoses from 20,000 degrees (in the first image) - to2r million de- grees (in the last image). There the loops make a negative image because they are cooler than their surroundings.
